Goals and Objectives
The main objective of the Academy of Entrepreneurial
Finance (AEF) is to encourage and support research and inquiry- as well
as teaching- in the very exciting field of entrepreneurial and small business
finance. The academy achieves its goals through its annual Conferences,
its official Publication, its new Teaching Entrepreneurial Finance portal, and now by having a stronger than ever presence
on the Internet.
Academy's History
Academy of Entrepreneurial Finance's history goes back to 1989- the first year in which AEF started offering annual Small Firm Financial Research Symposia to a targeted audience of academics and practitioners worldwide. Until then, the field had been almost totally ignored by the mainstream finance academics and researchers. Soon after the first few conferences, the academy started publication of its own journal- Journal of Small Business Finance. JSBF later changed its name to The Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance and in early 2000 to The Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance and Business Ventures. However, given AEF’s renewed commitment in serving its original niche carved back in 1989, The Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance name is back and will remain so for foreseeable future.
